Installing the SW200-262 Kingstream contactor on an electric forklift requires disconnecting the battery to isolate all electrical power, mounting the contactor to the chassis using the mounting frame or bracket, connecting the main high-current cables to the contactor terminals with correct torque, connecting the 48V DC coil control circuit via the spade terminals, and verifying operation. The contactor is the main power switch between the battery and the traction motor controller — when the coil is energized, the silver alloy contacts close with an audible click to complete the high-current circuit. A faulty contactor may exhibit welded contacts that fail to open (motor continues running after key-off), pitted contacts that cause voltage drop and reduced motor power, or a coil that fails to energize (no click, no motor power). For electric forklift fleets, contactor contacts should be inspected during scheduled maintenance for pitting, welding, or excessive erosion — silver alloy contact tips can be cleaned if lightly pitted but must be replaced if severely eroded or welded.
