The forklift hydraulic pump is the power source for the entire hydraulic system — it converts mechanical energy from the engine or electric motor into hydraulic fluid flow that powers the mast lift, tilt, steering, and attachment circuits. Most forklift hydraulic pumps are fixed-displacement gear-type pumps (CB-series: CBHYCK, CBQ, CBKA, CBW, CBHYA, CBHZ) that deliver a constant oil flow proportional to engine RPM. When to Replace Your Hydraulic Pump — Common Symptoms
• All hydraulic functions (lift, tilt, steering) operate slowly or weakly — Worn pump gears cannot build rated flow and pressure
• Whining or growling noise from the pump that increases with engine RPM — Pump cavitation from restricted suction line, low oil level, or worn gears
