A forklift wheel hub cap is a pressed steel or stamped metal cover that seals the outer face of the wheel hub assembly, retaining bearing grease and preventing dirt, water, dust, and debris from entering the wheel bearings. Often called a dust cover or hub dust cap, this small component plays an outsized role in wheel bearing longevity — a missing, dented, or loose hub cap allows contaminants into the bearing cavity, accelerating bearing wear, causing premature failure, and in severe cases leading to wheel seizure during operation.
