Forklift Attachment: Hinged Forks, Buckets, Carriages & Pushers

Forklift attachments transform a standard counterbalance forklift into a multi-purpose material handling machine — without buying dedicated equipment for each task. A hinged fork attachment tilts to dump loose materials from bins and containers. A bucket carriage turns the forklift into a loader for aggregate, scrap, and bulk material. A bag pusher handles bagged cargo without pallets. Every attachment must be matched to the forklift’s capacity and carriage class — an oversized attachment reduces net lifting capacity and can destabilize the forklift at height.

Kingstream supplies forklift attachments for Toyota, Komatsu, HELI, CAT, and Hangcha forklifts. Every attachment is inspected for weld integrity, hydraulic function (where applicable), and structural load rating before shipment.

Types of Forklift Attachments:

Hinged Fork — Standard forks with a hydraulic or manual tilting mechanism. The fork tines pivot at the heel, allowing the operator to dump the contents of bins, hoppers, and containers without removing the forks. Available in 2-3 ton capacity for diesel forklifts. The hinged fork’s tilting angle determines the dump height — verify your bin clearance before ordering.

Hinged Bucket Carriage — A complete bucket assembly that mounts to the forklift carriage, converting the forklift into a front-end loader for loose materials like gravel, sand, scrap metal, and agricultural products. The bucket tilts hydraulically for loading and dumping. Verify hydraulic circuit availability on your forklift before ordering — at least one auxiliary function is required.

Fork Pusher (Bag Handler) — A pusher plate attachment that slides bagged cargo (cement, fertilizer, grain, animal feed) off the forks without manual handling. The SJ-RJ25ST-B1 model handles 6-fork configurations for high-volume bagged material operations.

When to Replace or Inspect Attachments:

Weld cracks at the fork heel or carriage mounting hooks → Structural failure risk under load; remove from service immediately and inspect with dye penetrant
Hydraulic cylinder leaks or drifts under load → Internal seal failure; the attachment may not hold position, causing load instability
Fork tines are bent, twisted, or show heel wear exceeding 10% → Replace the fork component; do not attempt to straighten — heat changes the metallurgy
Attachment doesn’t seat properly on the carriage bar → Worn mounting hooks or incorrect carriage class; verify ISO class compatibility
Capacity data plate is missing or illegible → The attachment cannot be used safely without knowing its rated capacity; replace the data plate
