Forklift Radiator Cover: Pressure Caps, Radiator Plates & Shrouds for Komatsu Linde Hyster Doosan

The radiator cover — whether a pressure cap on the filler neck or a protective plate over the radiator core — is a $2 part that protects a $500 radiator. A failed pressure cap lets the cooling system boil over during heavy-load operation. A missing radiator cover plate lets debris, dust, and fork strike damage destroy the radiator fins. The pressure cap raises the coolant’s boiling point by approximately 3°C for every 1 PSI of system pressure — without it, coolant boils at 100°C and the engine overheats regardless of how well the water pump and thermostat are working.

Types of Radiator Covers:

Radiator Pressure Cap — The spring-loaded seal on the radiator filler neck. Maintains 0.9 bar (13 PSI) system pressure to raise coolant boiling point. Features a pressure relief valve that vents excess pressure to the overflow tank and a vacuum valve that draws coolant back during cooldown. Available for Komatsu (3EB0421130), Linde (0009184600), and Hyster (1637879 / 20995-401) forklifts.

Radiator Cover Plate — Metal plate that protects the radiator core from debris impact and provides proper airflow ducting. The Doosan 110508-32677 fits D20GP through D35GP and D20NX(M) through D35NX(M) series. Prevents hot engine bay air from recirculating through the radiator.

Radiator Water Tank Cover — Universal pressure cap for standard forklift radiator filler necks. EMD brand, 100% professionally tested before shipment.

When to Replace Radiator Covers:

• Coolant boiling or overflowing despite normal temperature gauge reading → Pressure cap not holding rated pressure. Replace cap before radiator damage occurs.
• Upper radiator hose collapses when engine cools down → Vacuum valve in the cap has stuck. The system can’t draw coolant back from the overflow tank.
• Coolant leaking from under the cap, rubber seal cracked or flattened → Cap seal has degraded. Replace cap — do not overtighten, it won’t fix a failed seal.
• Radiator cover plate is bent, missing, or rattling → Airflow is disrupted and debris can impact the radiator core. Replace the cover plate.
• Preventive replacement every 2-3 years → Radiator caps are wear items. The spring fatigues and the seal hardens over time.
