Forklift High Pressure Hose: Flexible Hydraulic Lines & Engine Hoses for Diesel Forklifts
High pressure hoses carry hydraulic fluid at 2,000-5,000 PSI through the forklift’s lift, tilt, and steering circuits, and route engine oil, fuel, and coolant at elevated temperatures through the engine bay. A high pressure hose failure is not a slow leak — it’s a sudden burst that sprays hot hydraulic oil across the operator, empties the reservoir in seconds, and leaves the forklift dead with a locked mast exactly where it sits. The most common failure point is at the crimped fitting where vibration fatigue causes the reinforcement to separate from the coupling.

Types of High Pressure Hoses:
Flexible Engine Hose — Rubber and steel-braid reinforced hoses for engine oil, coolant, and fuel routing in high-temperature engine bay environments. The Cummins K38 diesel engine uses the 3634304 flexible hose for coolant and oil routing where rigid pipe would fail from vibration.
Oil Pump Outlet Pipe — High pressure steel and rubber composite line connecting the oil pump to the engine oil gallery. The 5003067-C4300 outlet pipe is specified for Dongfeng GX industrial engines where oil pressure exceeds 60 PSI at operating temperature.
Flexible Pipe Assembly — Multi-layer flexible piping for marine and industrial engine applications where both pressure rating and corrosion resistance are required. The AS4016SL is used in saltwater-exposed engine compartments.
When to Replace High Pressure Hoses:
• Visible cracks, bubbles, or blisters on the outer cover → The inner tube has failed and fluid is migrating between layers; burst is imminent. Replace immediately.
• Fluid leaking at the crimped fitting — not the threaded connection → The crimp has fatigued from vibration. Retightening the fitting won’t fix a failed crimp. Replace the hose.
• Hose is stiff, brittle, or cracks when flexed → Heat aging has degraded the rubber compound. Schedule preventive replacement.
• Abrasion has worn through the outer cover exposing steel braid → The exposed braid will corrode and fail under pressure. Replace and reroute the new hose away from the abrasion point.
• Hose older than 5 years, regardless of appearance → Rubber compounds degrade over time even without visible damage. Preventive replacement avoids unplanned downtime.
