Forklift Fuel Injection Pump: 4D32G, BH4QT Series Diesel Injection Pumps for Xinchai & HELI

The fuel injection pump is the diesel engine’s heart — it meters and pressurizes fuel delivering it to each injector at the precise moment and quantity the engine demands, at pressures exceeding 2,000 PSI. A worn injection pump causes hard starting, black smoke, power loss, and increased fuel consumption, and if the pump’s internal governor fails, the engine can run away to self-destruction. A properly functioning injection pump ensures clean combustion, correct fuel economy, and compliance with emissions standards.

Types of Fuel Injection Pumps:

4D32G40-21100 Injection Pump — Fits 4D32G diesel engines used in larger-displacement forklift applications. Direct OEM replacement with calibrated delivery rates matching the factory specification.

4D29G31-21100 Injection Pump — Fits 4D29G31 diesel engines. Different delivery volume and timing curve from the 4D32G pump — these are not interchangeable.

BH4QT80R9 Injection Pump — Inline fuel injection pump for Xinchai C490 diesel engines in HELI 2-3.5 ton forklifts. The most common forklift injection pump in the Chinese market.

BH4QT85R9 Injection Pump — Higher-capacity variant of the BH4QT series for 2-3 ton forklifts requiring increased fuel delivery. Not interchangeable with the BH4QT80R9 without recalibration.

When to Replace Your Injection Pump:

• Hard starting, especially when the engine is warm → Worn plunger and barrel assemblies can’t build sufficient pressure for hot starting
• Black smoke under load, reduced power, increased fuel consumption → Incorrect delivery volume or timing; bench test the pump
• Engine hunts at idle — RPM surges up and down without throttle input → Governor is sticking or has worn components; pump needs rebuild or replacement
• Fuel in the engine oil (oil level rising, diesel smell from dipstick) → Pump’s internal shaft seal has failed, leaking diesel into the crankcase. Replace pump immediately
• Engine won’t start — no fuel at injectors despite fuel reaching the pump → Pump has seized or the delivery valve is stuck. Bench test or replace
