The forklift steering wheel is the primary operator control interface — transmitting the driver’s rotational input through the steering column to the orbitrol unit or steering gearbox for directional control of the forklift. A worn, cracked, or loose steering wheel degrades steering feel, creates operator fatigue from improper grip position, and in cases where the steering wheel splines are stripped, results in complete loss of steering control.
