Forklift Driving Hub: Front & Rear Wheel Hub Assemblies for Toyota Hangcha HELI Komatsu 1.5-10T

The driving hub — also called wheel hub or steering hub — is the cast or forged component that mounts the wheel to the axle shaft or steering knuckle. On front drive axles, the hub is splined or bolted to the axle shaft and transmits engine/motor torque to the wheel while carrying the forklift weight and brake drum. On rear steering axles, the hub mounts on the steering knuckle spindle and carries only vehicle weight and steering side loads. A worn hub with oversized bearing seats allows the bearing race to spin inside the bore, destroying the press-fit and creating wheel play that causes brake pulsation, uneven tire wear, and eventual wheel stud failure. A cracked hub flange can separate catastrophically under load.

Front vs Rear Hubs:
• Front Drive Axle Hubs — Splined or bolted to the drive axle shaft. Transmit torque under acceleration and braking. Most heavily loaded hub. Examples: JP300-110003-00 (Hangcha CPD20-30J electric), 239A3-02001 (HELI/TCM), JP300-110002-000 (Hangcha CPD30J with brake drum)
• Rear Steering Hubs — Mount on steering knuckle spindle. Carry vehicle weight and steering side loads only. High lateral force during tight turns. Examples: 7FB15-8FD-B15 (Toyota 6-hole, Japan), 25784-32291 (FD50-100 Z8 series), 3EB-24-32230 (Komatsu, 7 cross-refs)
• Steering Wheel Hubs — Mount the steering wheel to the steering column. Forged alloy steel with OEM/ODM service. Examples: HUB-STEERING-FORGED, HUB-STEERING-FORGED-2 (ANSI, powder coated)

When to Replace Driving Hubs:
• Wheel bearing play with jacked wheel rocking by hand → Bearing seat bores are worn oversize. The bearing race is spinning. Replace hub and bearing together
• Rumbling or grinding noise from wheel area, changes with speed → Bearing race has spun inside the hub bore. Metal-on-metal wear. Replace hub
• Broken or stripped wheel studs → Hub flange overloaded from impact or overtightening. Multiple damaged studs = replace hub
• Brake pulsation with visible drum runout → Hub drum mounting surface no longer true. Replace hub and drum
• Cracks radiating from stud holes or hub flange → Fatigue failure. Catastrophic separation risk. Replace immediately
