Forklift Electronic Flasher: Turn Signal & Hazard Light Relay 12V 24V

The electronic flasher relay is the small control module that makes turn signals and hazard lights flash on and off. When it fails, your turn signals either stay solid (no flashing), flash too fast (hyperflash — indicating a bulb out or wrong flasher), or don’t work at all. In a busy warehouse, turn signals that don’t flash are a safety hazard — pedestrians and other operators have no warning of your direction change. A $5 flasher relay prevents a $50,000 forklift-on-forklift collision.

Kingstream supplies replacement electronic flasher relays for Toyota, Komatsu, HELI, CAT, Hangcha, and Nissan forklifts. Every flasher is tested for flash rate (60-120 cycles per minute per SAE J590), load detection, and hazard mode operation before shipment, backed by a 6-month warranty.

Electronic vs Thermal Flashers:

Older forklifts used thermal flashers — a bimetallic strip that heated up and cooled down to make and break the circuit. These are load-dependent: if a bulb burns out, the flash rate changes. Modern electronic flashers use a solid-state timer circuit that maintains a constant flash rate regardless of load — they’re more reliable and work with LED bulbs (which draw too little current for thermal flashers). Always upgrade to an electronic flasher when converting from incandescent to LED turn signals.

When to Replace Your Flasher Relay:

Turn signals don’t flash — stay solid when activated → Flasher relay has failed closed; replace
Turn signals don’t work at all — no light, no clicking sound → Flasher relay has failed open or has no power; check fuse first, then replace flasher
Turn signals flash too fast (hyperflash) → Wrong flasher for LED bulbs, or a burnt-out bulb; if all bulbs are good, replace the flasher with an LED-compatible unit
Hazard lights work but turn signals don’t (or vice versa) → Turn signal switch fault, not the flasher — the flasher relay serves both circuits
Clicking sound from flasher is irregular or missing → Internal relay contacts worn; replace
