Forklift Engine Valves: Intake & Exhaust Valves, Valve Seats, Guides & Seals for KTA19 C240 Xinchai

Engine valves are the poppet-style components inside the cylinder head that open and close to control the intake of air/fuel mixture and the exhaust of combustion gases. The intake valve admits the air-fuel charge into the cylinder; the exhaust valve releases burned gases after combustion. Both valves operate under extreme conditions — exhaust valves run at 600-800°C and must resist burning, pitting, and stretching, while intake valves run cooler but face corrosion from fuel contaminants. A burned or bent valve loses compression in that cylinder, causing misfires, power loss, hard starting, and in severe cases, a dropped valve head that destroys the piston, cylinder head, and cylinder liner in a single event.

Kingstream supplies replacement engine valves, valve seats, guides, and seals for Cummins KTA19/K19/K38, Chevrolet, Xinchai 490, and universal diesel engine applications. Every valve is manufactured to OEM-spec stem diameter, seat angle, and material grade.

Types:
Exhaust Valve (3088391/3052820) — Cummins K19/K38/KTA19 QSK19 diesel engine exhaust valves. High-temperature alloy for continuous 700°C+ operation
Intake Valve (3052820) — Cummins KTA19 QSK19 intake valve. Matched to exhaust valve for proper flow balance
Valve Seat Ring Insert — Factory replacement valve seat rings pressed into the cylinder head. Worn seats cause poor valve sealing and compression loss
Valve Guide (96336671) — Valve shaft guide for Chevrolet automotive engine systems. Worn guides cause oil consumption and valve stem wear
Valve Seal (XC490 / Z-1-12569-015-0) — Oil seals for Xinchai 490 and universal forklift engines. Hardened seals allow oil into the valve guide, causing blue exhaust smoke

When to Replace Engine Valves:
• Cylinder misfire with compression test showing low compression on one cylinder that doesn’t improve with a wet test → Burned or bent valve. The valve seat is not sealing
• Blue smoke from exhaust on startup that clears after warm-up → Worn valve seals allowing oil to drip into the combustion chamber while the engine sits. Replace seals before guides and valves are damaged
• Tapping or clicking noise from the valve cover area at half engine speed → Excessive valve clearance from worn valve stem tip or rocker arm. Adjust clearance first; replace valve if adjustment cannot be maintained
• Exhaust valve with a burnt, eroded, or tuliped edge → Valve has overheated. The sealing surface is gone. Replace valve and inspect the seat ring — the seat may also need replacement
• Metal in the oil filter with compression loss on one cylinder → Dropped valve or broken valve spring. Stop engine immediately. Damage may already extend to piston and cylinder
