The non-marking compound is specifically formulated for indoor warehouse and food/beverage facility operations where black tire marks on the floor are unacceptable — the lighter-colored rubber compound leaves no streaks or scuff marks on epoxy-coated, polished, or painted concrete floors. Non-marking tires typically use a silica-based filler instead of carbon black for the reinforcing filler in the rubber compound, which changes the tire color from black to a lighter grey or beige tone while maintaining comparable wear resistance and traction. A non-marking solid tire eliminates the two biggest problems with pneumatic tires in indoor environments simultaneously: punctures and floor marking — combined, these two issues cause more forklift downtime and facility maintenance cost than any other tire-related problem in warehouse operations.
