This forklift brake master cylinder is a Kingstream OEM heavy-duty brake master cylinder with integrated fluid reservoir for 10-15 ton diesel forklifts. At the 10-15 ton capacity class, the master cylinder must displace significantly more brake fluid volume per pedal stroke than 1-5 ton forklift cylinders to actuate the larger wheel cylinders or calipers required for stopping heavier loads — typically a 1-1/8″ to 1-1/4″ bore size compared to 3/4″ to 7/8″ for smaller forklifts. The integrated reservoir eliminates the need for a remote fluid reservoir and separate connecting hose, reducing potential leak points. Cast iron or heavy-duty aluminum construction with large-bore piston and premium EPDM seals rated for DOT 3 / DOT 4 brake fluid compatibility and high-temperature operation. Installing the brake master cylinder requires disconnecting the brake lines from the cylinder ports, unbolting the cylinder from the firewall or pedal assembly bracket, bench bleeding the new cylinder to purge internal air before installation (critical for heavy-duty cylinders with deeper bores where trapped air is harder to remove), installing with new sealing washers on all hydraulic connections, reconnecting brake lines, filling the integrated reservoir with fresh DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid, and bleeding the entire dual-circuit brake system starting from the wheel farthest from the master cylinder. For 10-15 ton forklifts, the brake system has larger fluid volume than smaller forklifts — complete bleeding typically requires 1-2 liters of brake fluid. A failing master cylinder on a 10-15 ton forklift is a critical safety hazard: the forklift weighs 14,000-18,000 kg loaded and a brake failure at speed cannot be compensated for by the parking brake. Symptoms of master cylinder failure include a brake pedal that slowly sinks to the floor under constant pressure (internal bypass past worn piston seals), brake fluid leaking from the pushrod end (external seal failure), or contaminated brake fluid with dark particles (internal corrosion).
