ORBIT MOTOR OPERATING PRINCIPLE: The orbit motor (also called a gerotor or geroler motor) is a low-speed high-torque hydraulic motor that converts hydraulic fluid pressure and flow into rotary mechanical power. Hydraulic oil enters through the inlet port and flows into the gerotor set — an inner rotor with external teeth that orbits inside an outer ring gear with internal teeth. As the rotor orbits, the expanding and contracting chambers between the rotor and ring gear create a continuous rotary motion transmitted through the output shaft. Unlike piston or vane motors, orbit motors deliver high torque at very low speeds without needing a gearbox — making them ideal for forklift power steering, conveyor drives, augers, winches, and other low-speed high-torque applications. INSTALLATION: Mount the motor using the rhomb-flange or square-flange bolt pattern — ensure proper alignment with the driven load to prevent side loading on the output shaft. Connect the hydraulic pressure and return hoses to the correct ports — orbit motors are bi-directional, so port assignment determines rotation direction. Install a case drain line if required by the specific model. Bleed air by running the motor at low speed in both directions. Verify smooth rotation without unusual noise or vibration.
