Installing the RG1168-30H fuel sensor requires draining the fuel tank below the sensor mounting level, removing the old sensor from the tank top plate, and installing the replacement sensor with a new gasket to prevent fuel vapor leaks. The float arm must be oriented correctly — verify the float moves freely through its full travel range without contacting the tank walls or internal baffles before tightening the mounting bolts. Connect the wiring harness to the sensor terminals and test fuel gauge response by manually moving the float through its range while observing the gauge needle.
