Heli Forklift Electric Traction Driving Motor
This is an OEM-grade electric traction driving motor for Heli CPD series counterbalance forklifts, serving as the primary drive motor that delivers power through the transaxle to the front wheels. Designed for 48V or 80V DC battery systems, this motor provides the torque and speed control required for forward/reverse travel, acceleration under load, and ramp climbing in warehouse, factory, and distribution center environments. The motor operates in conjunction with the forklift’s traction controller (typically Curtis, ZAPI, or Heli-branded AC/DC drives), receiving regulated armature and field current to modulate speed and torque across the full operating range. This is a direct bolt-in replacement for the factory-installed traction motor, built to match the original mount pattern, shaft dimensions, and electrical specifications.
The motor frame is constructed from heavy-gauge rolled steel with welded feet for rigid chassis mounting, while the end bells are precision-cast iron with machined bearing seats for accurate shaft alignment. Internally, the armature uses Class H (180°C) enameled copper windings with vacuum pressure impregnation varnish for moisture protection and thermal stability during sustained high-load operation. The commutator is diamond-turned to ensure uniform brush contact, and four high-carbon brush assemblies with constant-force spring holders provide consistent commutation with minimal arcing. The shaft is ground and hardened alloy steel with a keyway and threaded center hole, sized to match the Heli transaxle input coupling. Double-sealed deep-groove ball bearings at both ends are grease-packed for the service life of the motor.
Compatible with Heli CPD10 through CPD35 electric forklifts spanning 1.0 to 3.5 ton lifting capacity, as well as select electric reach trucks and electric pallet stackers using Heli traction systems. Before installation, verify the motor voltage rating matches your forklift’s battery system (48V or 80V) and that the controller is configured for the correct motor parameters. Inspect the motor coupling splines or keyway for wear, and replace the coupling insert if signs of deformation are present. After installation, perform a no-load run test in both forward and reverse directions, checking for abnormal vibration, noise, or current draw. Each drive motor is tested before shipment: insulation resistance testing at 500V DC, winding resistance verification, no-load run test with vibration analysis, and brush seating inspection. The motor ships in a foam-lined reinforced crate with the shaft protected by an anti-corrosion sleeve and desiccant packs to prevent moisture absorption during transit. A 12-month warranty covers manufacturing defects. Recommended preventive maintenance: inspect and clean brush holders every 500 operating hours, check bearing condition annually, and replace brushes when worn to 50% of original length.
