INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: Step 1 — Drain transmission fluid and remove the oil pan. Step 2 — Disconnect electrical connectors and shift linkage from the valve body. Step 3 — Remove valve body bolts — note that bolts are different lengths and must be reinstalled in EXACT original positions to prevent internal damage. Step 4 — Lower the old valve body carefully, noting check ball and spring positions. Step 5 — Clean the transmission case mounting surface. Step 6 — Install the new valve body with new gasket, replacing check balls and springs in correct positions. Step 7 — Torque bolts to specification in correct sequence. Step 8 — Reconnect linkage and wiring. Step 9 — Install new pan gasket and pan. Step 10 — Refill with correct fluid, cycle through gears, check level hot.
