Forklift Clutch Housing 10063-11070G — Bell Housing for Heli 2-3T Mechanical Transmission
The 10063-11070G is the clutch bell housing (also called a torque converter housing or flywheel housing) for Heli CPCD20-CPCD30 series 2-3 ton mechanical transmission forklifts. This cast iron housing bolts between the engine block and the transmission, serving three critical functions simultaneously: it aligns the transmission input shaft with the engine crankshaft centerline to within 0.05mm concentricity, it encloses the clutch assembly and flywheel to contain debris in the event of a clutch disc disintegration, and it provides the structural mounting points for the starter motor and clutch release fork pivot. The housing is cast from HT250 gray iron with a machined bell-mouth bore that accepts the transmission front bearing retainer with an H7/g6 transition fit — this precision fit is what maintains input shaft alignment, and any housing with a worn or ovalized bore (measured >0.08mm out-of-round) must be replaced as a unit; boring and sleeving is not recommended for clutch housings due to the risk of misalignment causing clutch disc spline fretting.
Installing a clutch housing requires the transmission to be removed from the forklift, as the housing is sandwiched between the engine and transmission. Before bolt-up, clean the engine block and transmission mating surfaces to bare metal — any residue from an old gasket or RTV silicone will create an angular misalignment of the transmission relative to the crankshaft, which will cause the clutch disc hub splines to wear into an hourglass shape within 200-300 hours. The two alignment dowel pins (one on each side of the crankshaft centerline) must be present and undamaged; if either dowel is missing or bent, the housing will shift during bolt torque and cause the same angular misalignment issue. Tighten the housing-to-engine bolts to 55-65 N·m in a diagonal pattern, starting from the dowel pin bolts. After installation, check the transmission input shaft runout with a dial indicator at the pilot bearing — total indicated runout must not exceed 0.10mm. Common failure symptoms: clutch pedal pulsation felt through the foot during engagement (housing-to-transmission misalignment), a rhythmic “chirping” noise that changes with clutch pedal position (worn pilot bearing bore in the housing), and transmission oil leaking from the bell housing weep hole (input shaft seal failure caused by housing misalignment).
This 10063-11070G housing fits Heli CPCD20, CPCD25, and CPCD30 forklifts with mechanical transmissions. Verify the casting number on your existing housing before ordering.
