This torque converter housing mates the HELI 490/498BPG series engine to the HC hydraulic transmission in CPC30 and CPCD30 3-ton forklifts. Manufactured by Zhongnan Transmission to HELI OEM specifications, the cast iron housing provides the structural bellhousing that aligns the torque converter pilot to the crankshaft centerline and bolts the transmission to the engine block. The housing integrates the flexplate access window for torque converter bolt access, the starter motor mounting boss, and the transmission fluid cooler line pass-through ports — all machined to tight tolerances to maintain converter alignment and prevent fluid leaks at the mating surfaces.

This housing is specific to the HELI-HC transmission used in CPC30 (diesel) and CPCD30 (dual-fuel/diesel with torque converter) forklift models. It fits the 490BPG, 498BPG, HL, and HC series gearboxes produced by Zhongnan Transmission — the bolt pattern, dowel pin diameter, and transmission mounting face are identical across these variants. The housing does NOT fit HELI CPCD25 or CPCD35 models with the smaller YQX30 transmission, nor does it fit the earlier HELI CPC20 with the mechanical transmission. Verify your gearbox tag for “HC” or “HL” designation and your engine for “490” or “498BPG” before ordering.

The housing weighs approximately 28 kg in cast iron and requires transmission removal for installation. Procedure: drain the transmission fluid, remove the starter motor, disconnect the fluid cooler lines at the housing pass-through ports, unbolt the torque converter from the flexplate through the access window, support the transmission assembly on a suitable jack (the combined converter and housing assembly is approximately 60 kg), remove the bellhousing-to-engine bolts in a diagonal pattern to prevent warping, and carefully separate the transmission from the engine block. Before installing the replacement housing, inspect the engine block dowel pins and the flexplate for runout — worn dowels or a bent flexplate will misalign the new housing and cause converter pilot bearing failure. Replace the front pump seal and input shaft O-ring with every housing removal.
