Forklift Throttle Control Assembly — Accelerator Bracket & Pedal Linkage for H-K Series Forklifts
This throttle control assembly is a complete accelerator linkage mechanism designed for Heli H-series and K-series forklifts. The assembly includes the accelerator pedal bracket (the structural mounting base that bolts to the floor pan), the pedal arm with a ribbed non-slip rubber pad, the throttle cable linkage rod, and the return spring assembly — all pre-assembled as a ready-to-install unit. The pedal bracket is stamped from 3mm-thick steel plate with a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance, and the pivot bushing is an oil-impregnated sintered bronze sleeve (not a plastic bushing) that provides approximately 5,000 hours of maintenance-free operation before replacement is needed. The throttle cable linkage uses a spherical rod end with a 6mm ball stud, which allows the cable to articulate through a 15-degree angular range as the pedal travels — this articulation prevents the throttle cable from kinking at the pedal attachment point, which is the most common cause of sticky or binding accelerator pedal operation on H-series forklifts.
Installing a throttle control assembly on an H-K series forklift requires the throttle cable free length to be adjusted after the pedal bracket is bolted in place. The throttle cable should have 1-2mm of free play at the pedal before the injection pump lever begins to move — this free play ensures the engine returns to the correct idle speed (750-800 RPM) when the pedal is fully released. Insufficient free play (cable too tight) will hold the injection pump slightly off its idle stop, causing the engine to idle at 900-1,000 RPM and making the forklift creep in gear. Excessive free play (cable too loose) will create a dead zone in the first 10-15mm of pedal travel where the pedal moves but the engine does not respond, causing jerky starts as the operator compensates by pressing the pedal further. The return spring assembly includes two springs for redundancy: the inner spring provides the primary return force (approximately 15-20 N), and the outer spring acts as a backup that will still return the pedal to idle if the inner spring breaks — this is a safety-critical design feature because a stuck wide-open throttle on a forklift operating in a confined warehouse space can result in a collision within 2-3 seconds. Common failure symptoms: accelerator pedal does not return fully to idle position (broken return spring), throttle response feels notchy or sticky (worn pivot bushing or kinked cable), and excessive side-to-side play in the pedal arm (worn pivot bushing allowing lateral movement).
This throttle control assembly fits Heli H-series (early production) and K-series forklifts in the 1-5 ton class. Verify the pedal bracket mounting bolt pattern and the cable end connection type before ordering. For related control components, visit our Forklift Electronic Control Parts section.
