This forklift fuel sensor model RG449 is an Kingstream OEM fuel level sender designed for HELI 1-3.5 ton diesel and LPG forklift trucks in building material, manufacturing, food and beverage, construction, port, logistics, warehousing, and mining environments. The fuel sensor mounts in the forklift fuel tank and uses a float mechanism to measure the fuel level — the float rises and falls with the diesel or LPG fuel, driving a variable resistor that sends a proportional signal to the fuel gauge on the instrument panel. The RG449 is specifically calibrated for HELI 1-3.5 ton forklift fuel tanks, providing accurate fuel level readings from full to reserve across the tank’s depth range. A failed fuel sensor is one of the most common causes of inaccurate fuel gauge readings — symptoms include a gauge that reads empty regardless of actual fuel level, a gauge stuck on full, or erratic needle movement during forklift operation. Installing the RG449 fuel sensor requires draining the fuel tank below the sensor mounting flange on the top of the tank. Remove the old sensor and replace the mounting gasket before installing the new RG449. The float arm orientation is critical — verify the float moves through its full arc without contacting the tank walls, internal baffles, or fuel pickup tube before tightening the mounting bolts. Connect the wiring harness to the sensor terminals and test the fuel gauge by manually cycling the float through its full range while observing the instrument panel gauge needle. For diesel engines, if the tank was fully drained, bleed the fuel system at the injection pump after sensor installation. OEM available for fleet operators.
