This design eliminates the need for a separate hydraulic oil cooler, reducing component count, weight, and potential leak points in the forklift’s fluid systems. The hydraulic oil cooler section uses a separate circuit within the radiator that allows hot hydraulic oil from the steering and lift systems to transfer heat to the engine coolant, which then dissipates it through the radiator fins. This integrated approach is particularly effective on manual transmission K30 forklifts where the engine thermal load is lower than automatic transmission variants, freeing cooling capacity for the hydraulic system. A failed hydraulic oil cooler section — either internally leaking hydraulic oil into the coolant or externally leaking at the cooler line fittings — must be addressed immediately because hydraulic oil contamination of the engine coolant degrades the radiator’s heat transfer efficiency and can cause coolant hose swelling and failure.
