INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: Step 1 — Remove the valve cover. Step 2 — Loosen the rocker arm shaft mounting bolts gradually in a cross-pattern to prevent shaft warping. Step 3 — Lift off the complete rocker arm shaft assembly. Step 4 — Slide individual rocker arms off the shaft, noting their position and orientation for correct reinstallation. Step 5 — Inspect the rocker shaft for scoring or wear at the rocker arm pivot points. Step 6 — Install the new rocker arms onto the shaft in the correct order — each cylinder has one intake and one exhaust rocker arm. Step 7 — Apply engine oil to the shaft and rocker arm bushing surfaces. Step 8 — Reinstall the complete rocker shaft assembly onto the cylinder head, starting all bolts finger-tight before final torque in a cross-pattern.
