INSTALLATION: Step 1 — Warm the engine to thin the oil, then shut off and allow to cool slightly. Step 2 — Place a drain pan under the oil filter. Step 3 — Use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the old filter (turn counterclockwise). Step 4 — Clean the engine oil filter mounting surface — remove the old gasket if stuck. Step 5 — Apply a thin film of clean engine oil to the new filter gasket — this ensures proper sealing and easy removal at the next service. Step 6 — Hand-tighten the new filter until the gasket contacts the mounting surface, then tighten an additional 3/4 to 1 turn by hand. DO NOT use a wrench to tighten — overtightening crushes the gasket and causes leaks. Step 7 — Refill engine with correct grade and quantity of oil. Step 8 — Start the engine and check for oil leaks at the filter. Step 9 — Check oil level and top up as the new filter fills. Kingstream OEM.
