INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: Step 1 — Remove the transmission to access the clutch. Step 2 — Slide the old release bearing off the transmission input shaft sleeve. Step 3 — Clean the input shaft sleeve with solvent — remove all old grease and debris. Step 4 — Inspect the sleeve for scoring, wear, or grooves — a worn sleeve will destroy the new bearing prematurely. Step 5 — Apply a thin coat of high-temperature clutch grease to the input shaft sleeve surface — do NOT over-grease as excess can contaminate the clutch disc. Step 6 — Slide the new release bearing onto the sleeve, ensuring it moves freely without binding. Step 7 — Verify the bearing face that contacts the pressure plate diaphragm fingers is clean and free of grease. Step 8 — Reinstall the transmission. Step 9 — Adjust clutch pedal free play to Tailift specification.
