The Club Car DS upper clevis is a forged steel linkage component that connects the forward/reverse shuttle cable to the transmission shift arm on Club Car DS golf carts — both gasoline and electric models from 1982 through the final DS production years. This clevis is the pivot point in the shift linkage: when the driver moves the FNR lever, the cable pulls or pushes the clevis, which rotates the transmission shift arm to select forward, neutral, or reverse. A worn, bent, or cracked clevis produces loose shift lever feel, difficulty finding neutral, or complete loss of gear engagement — the cart either refuses to shift or pops out of gear under load.
