Forklift Exhaust Pipe Soft Connection RLJ-PQG(42) — HELI 2-3T Diesel Flexible Joint

This exhaust pipe soft connection (flexible bellows joint) is installed between the engine exhaust manifold and the rigid exhaust pipe on HELI 2-3 ton diesel forklifts. Its purpose is to absorb engine vibration and chassis flex that would otherwise crack a solid exhaust connection at the manifold flange within months of operation. A failed soft connection — whether torn, leaking, or completely separated — allows hot exhaust gases to escape directly into the engine bay, overheating nearby hoses, wiring, and plastic components, and creating a carbon monoxide hazard for the operator.

Installation replaces the existing rigid connector between the manifold outlet and the exhaust pipe inlet. The RLJ-PQG(42) flexible section compensates for the engine’s natural rocking motion on its mounts during acceleration and deceleration. Always check the engine mounts before installing a new soft connection — worn mounts cause excessive engine movement that will tear the new flexible joint prematurely.
