This nylon plastic double pulley (sheave) is designed for routing hydraulic hoses on forklift mast assemblies, preventing hose kinking and abrasion as the mast channels extend and retract. The pulley dimensions are: 25mm inner diameter (bearing bore), 144mm outer diameter, and 45mm overall width with twin 18mm grooves — the double-groove configuration allows two hydraulic hoses (typically the lift cylinder supply and return lines) to be routed side-by-side on a single pulley assembly. The pulley is injection-molded from MC nylon (monomer cast nylon, PA6 equivalent) with a self-lubricating property — unlike steel pulleys that require regular grease lubrication, nylon pulleys operate dry and do not corrode, making them ideal for the exposed mast environment where rain, wash-down water, and airborne dust would rapidly wash away grease and cause steel pulleys to rust and seize. The 18mm groove width accommodates standard 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch hydraulic hose diameters with approximately 2-3mm of lateral clearance to prevent hose binding as the pulley rotates.

The nylon pulley bearing bore (25mm ID) accepts either a bronze bushing (for applications with a stationary shaft where the pulley rotates on the bushing) or a sealed ball bearing (for high-cycle applications where the pulley makes 50,000+ rotations per year). The recommended shaft-to-bore clearance is 0.10-0.20mm for bushing-mounted installations — this clearance allows the nylon to expand slightly from frictional heating during high-cycle operation without binding on the shaft. Installing the pulley with insufficient clearance (less than 0.05mm) will cause the nylon bore to melt and seize to the shaft within the first 1,000 mast cycles, requiring the entire pulley and shaft assembly to be cut off and replaced. The pulley should be inspected for groove wear at every 1,000-hour service interval: measure the groove depth with a caliper at the deepest point of hose contact — replacement is required when the groove depth has worn more than 1.5mm below the original profile, as excessive groove wear allows the hose to ride too deep in the pulley and contact the pulley hub, causing hose outer jacket abrasion. Common failure symptoms: squeaking noise from the mast during lift and lower operation (dry nylon-to-shaft contact — apply a spray of dry PTFE lubricant, not oil-based lubricants which attract dust), hydraulic hose outer jacket showing longitudinal abrasion marks (worn pulley groove pinching the hose), and the pulley wobbling visibly during mast operation (worn bearing bore allowing the pulley to tilt on the shaft).
