The engine foot pad sits between the engine mounting bracket and the chassis frame, absorbing engine vibration and isolating it from the forklift chassis — preventing vibration transmission to the operator compartment, steering system, and hydraulic controls. A worn, cracked, or collapsed engine foot pad allows the engine to vibrate directly against the chassis, creating excessive cabin noise, steering wheel vibration, and accelerated wear on engine mount bolts and chassis mounting points from the hammering effect of un-dampened engine vibration. Installing the engine foot pad requires supporting the engine with a jack or hoist to remove weight from the engine mount, then unbolting the old foot pad from the chassis bracket and replacing it with the new unit. The engine mount bolts must be torqued to specification — under-torquing allows the engine to shift during operation, while over-torquing compresses the rubber pad excessively, reducing its vibration isolation effectiveness. After installation, start the engine and verify reduced vibration compared to the worn pad. For H2000 forklifts in heavy-use environments, inspect engine foot pads during every scheduled maintenance for rubber cracking, compression set, or separation of the rubber from the metal mounting plate. Replace all engine foot pads as a set — replacing only one while leaving worn pads in place creates uneven engine alignment and accelerates wear on the new pad.
