This forklift mast chain joint is a Kingstream OEM transmission chain connector for 1-10 ton forklift trucks in manufacturing, construction, port, warehousing, logistics, and material handling. The chain joint — also called a chain connector link or master link — is used to join two sections of mast lifting chain together, or to connect the chain to the mast carriage anchor point. MAST CHAIN FUNCTION: Forklift masts use leaf chains (also called lift chains) to transmit the lifting force from the hydraulic lift cylinder to the inner mast sections and carriage. The chain is anchored at one end to the outer mast or carriage, passes over a pulley at the top of the lift cylinder, and anchors at the other end to the inner mast. As the cylinder extends, the chain pulls the inner mast upward. The chain joint is used to form a loop or to connect the chain end to the anchor bracket. INSTALLATION: Lower the mast fully. Support the inner mast to prevent movement. Remove the old chain joint by driving out the connecting pins. Position the new chain joint and align the chain ends. Insert the connecting pins and install the retaining clips or cotter pins. Verify the joint moves freely without binding. Check chain tension and adjust if needed.
