INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: Step 1 — Drain the transmission fluid. Step 2 — Locate and remove the transmission filter — typically accessed by removing the transmission oil pan. Step 3 — Clean the filter mounting surface. Step 4 — Install the new filter with a new O-ring or gasket. Step 5 — Reinstall the oil pan with a new gasket.
