INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: Step 1 — Remove the radiator, fan shroud, and front engine components. Drain engine oil. Step 2 — Remove the valve cover, loosen rocker arm adjusting nuts, and extract pushrods in order. Step 3 — Remove the timing cover and timing chain or gears, noting alignment marks. Step 4 — Remove lifters. Step 5 — Carefully extract the old camshaft, rotating slowly. Step 6 — Inspect cam bearings for wear. Step 7 — Apply engine assembly lube to new camshaft lobes and journals. Step 8 — Install new camshaft, reinstall timing components with correct alignment, lifters, pushrods, rocker arms. Step 9 — Adjust valve lash to JAC specification.
