Forklift Hydraulic Steering Gear 102S-5-100-07 — Direction Machine Steering Valve for Forklift Trucks

This forklift hydraulic steering gear part number 102S-5-100-07 is a Kingstream OEM hydraulic steering direction machine for forklift trucks in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and material handling. The steering gear — also called a direction machine or hydraulic steering control unit — converts the rotation of the steering wheel into proportional hydraulic oil flow that directs the steering cylinder to turn the rear wheels. Unlike mechanical steering linkages found in cars, forklifts use fully hydraulic power steering where the steering gear itself is the hydraulic control valve. 10kg with 15×15×15cm carton box packaging. 100% professional tested. 7-15 day delivery. Kingstream OEM for forklift fleet steering system replacement.

HYDRAULIC STEERING OPERATION: When the operator turns the steering wheel, the steering column rotates the input shaft of the steering gear. Inside the steering gear, this rotation opens metering orifices that direct pressurized hydraulic oil from the steering pump to the appropriate side of the steering cylinder. The steering cylinder extends or retracts, pushing or pulling the steering linkage that turns the rear wheels. When the operator stops turning the wheel, the steering gear returns to neutral, blocking hydraulic flow and hydraulically locking the steering in position. This provides fully proportional steering — small wheel movements produce small steering angle changes, while large movements produce proportional large steering responses. The 102S series is a standard forklift steering gear model compatible with multiple forklift brands. For forklift fleet steering system maintenance, contact us. Kingstream OEM.

INSTALLATION: Step 1 — Drain or isolate the steering hydraulic circuit. Step 2 — Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the steering gear ports (typically pressure inlet from pump, tank return, left cylinder port, and right cylinder port). Step 3 — Disconnect the steering column from the steering gear input shaft. Step 4 — Unbolt the steering gear from its mounting bracket. Step 5 — Install the new steering gear, ensuring correct alignment with the steering column. Step 6 — Reconnect the hydraulic hoses to the correct ports — incorrect port connection will cause reverse steering or no steering assist. Step 7 — Reconnect the steering column to the input shaft. Step 8 — Refill hydraulic fluid and bleed air from the steering circuit by turning the steering wheel lock-to-lock 5-10 times with the engine running. Step 9 — Check for hydraulic fluid leaks at all port connections and the steering gear shaft seal. Step 10 — Test drive and verify smooth, proportional steering with no free play or binding. For forklift fleet steering system maintenance, contact us. Kingstream OEM.

SYMPTOMS OF FAILURE: Hard steering requiring excessive effort, jerky or uneven steering response, steering wheel not returning to center, external hydraulic oil leaks from the steering gear, steering drift, and complete loss of power steering. Kingstream OEM.
