The brake shoes feature high-friction semi-metallic lining material bonded to precision-stamped steel backing plates using high-temperature structural adhesive and mechanical rivets. The lining compound is formulated for the heavy-duty stop-and-go duty cycle of forklift operations, providing consistent friction coefficient across a wide temperature range with minimal fade during repeated braking. The wheel cylinders are cast iron with honed bores and EPDM rubber piston cups that resist swelling and degradation from DOT 3/DOT 4 brake fluid exposure. Each cylinder is assembled with stainless steel bleed screws and dust boots to prevent contamination ingress. The spring kit includes high-carbon music wire return springs that maintain proper shoe retraction force throughout the full lining wear life.
