This timing gear chamber (part number 11301-78155) is the cast aluminum or iron housing that encloses the timing gears on the front of the Toyota 4Y engine block, used in Toyota 7FG and 8FG series 1.5-3 ton IC forklifts. The timing gear chamber — also called timing cover or timing case — houses the crankshaft timing gear, camshaft timing gear, and timing chain or belt that synchronizes crankshaft and camshaft rotation for proper valve timing. It also serves as the front oil seal carrier for the crankshaft. A cracked or warped timing chamber causes oil leaks at the front of the engine that contaminate the timing gears with dirt and debris, leading to accelerated chain/belt and gear wear. A chamber with a worn or damaged crankshaft seal bore allows the front oil seal to walk out, causing a major oil leak.

This OEM-spec chamber is from Japan for Toyota 4Y engines in 7FG15-30 and 8FG15-30 forklifts, also compatible with the GQ49GP engine variant. 3-month warranty. New condition. When replacing the timing gear chamber, always replace the front crankshaft oil seal and timing cover gasket simultaneously — reusing an old seal in a new chamber risks immediate leakage.
