The booster amplifies the mechanical force applied to the brake pedal by utilizing engine intake manifold vacuum to create a pressure differential across a large-diameter diaphragm, multiplying pedal effort by approximately 4-6 times for reduced driver fatigue and consistent braking performance under all load conditions.

The booster housing is constructed from heavy-gauge stamped steel with a corrosion-resistant black electrocoat finish. The internal assembly features a reinforced single-diaphragm design with a precision-calibrated reaction disc that provides progressive pedal feel — light effort for gentle deceleration at low speeds, with proportionally increased power assist as pedal force increases during loaded or emergency braking. The atmospheric air inlet incorporates a foam silencer to reduce intake noise, and the one-way check valve on the vacuum port maintains vacuum reserve for 1-2 power-assisted stops after engine shutdown.
