The JF131X is a 14-volt, 350-watt (approximately 25-ampere) belt-driven alternator specifically designed for XinChai 490, 495, and compatible 4-cylinder diesel engines powering 2-4 ton HELI, Hangcha, and Lonking internal combustion counterbalance forklifts. As a compact, efficient charging system component, the JF131X converts mechanical energy from the engine crankshaft pulley via a V-belt or poly-V belt drive into regulated 14V DC electrical power that charges the forklift’s battery and supplies the vehicle’s electrical loads during operation. The 350W output rating — equivalent to approximately 25 amps at 14V — is sized appropriately for the moderate electrical demands of 2-4 ton forklifts with standard instrumentation, work lights, and engine control systems, providing sufficient charging capacity to maintain battery charge during normal duty cycles without the unnecessary weight, cost, and physical size of higher-output alternators designed for large-capacity equipment.
The alternator employs a Lundell-type claw-pole rotor design that generates a rotating magnetic field when the field coil is energized through the voltage regulator. This field induces three-phase alternating current in the stationary stator windings, which is then rectified to direct current by a six-diode bridge rectifier assembly mounted on an aluminum heat sink in the rear housing. The integrated solid-state voltage regulator — typically a hybrid IC design — maintains the output voltage at a tightly controlled 14.0-14.5V regardless of engine RPM variations from idle to rated speed, electrical load changes, or ambient temperature fluctuations. Each JF131X alternator is tested: output current at 2000 and 5000 RPM alternator shaft speed, regulated voltage set point verification, diode forward/reverse testing, bearing noise analysis, and insulation resistance at 500V DC.
