This engine oil pump (part number DZ04102478) is the positive-displacement gear pump inside the engine that circulates pressurized oil to every bearing, piston cooling jet, valvetrain component, and timing chain in Linde forklift engines. The oil pump is driven directly by the crankshaft or through a gear drive — it pulls oil from the sump through the pickup screen and forces it through the oil filter, main oil gallery, and then to the crankshaft main bearings, connecting rod bearings, camshaft bearings, rocker shaft, and timing components. Oil pressure at the main gallery should be 30-60 psi at operating temperature — pressure below 15 psi at idle or below 30 psi at speed indicates a worn pump, worn bearings (excessive clearance bleeds pressure), or a stuck relief valve. Running an engine with low oil pressure destroys the bearings within minutes.
