The three dimensions define the wheel: 248mm outer diameter determines the overall wheel circumference and ground clearance, 75mm tread width provides the traction contact patch that transmits drive motor torque to the floor, and 80mm hub width with 5-hole bolt pattern matches the electric forklift drive motor hub flange. The 5-hole configuration is a standard electric forklift drive wheel bolt pattern — the five equally spaced bolts distribute drive torque evenly across the hub flange, preventing the stress concentration that would occur with a 3 or 4-bolt pattern under the high torque loads of electric motor acceleration and regenerative braking. Installing the 248×75×80mm drive wheel requires removing the five hub bolts and pulling the old wheel off the drive motor output hub. Before mounting the replacement, clean the hub flange surface of rust, debris, and old polyurethane residue that could prevent the new wheel from seating flat against the flange — an uneven mounting surface causes wheel wobble that accelerates tread wear and creates operator-detectable vibration. The five bolts must be torqued in a star pattern to the manufacturer’s specification. After installation, rotate the wheel by hand to verify smooth rotation without binding against the brake components or chassis.
