INSTALLATION: Step 1 — Support the forklift and remove the counterweight. Step 2 — Drain transmission fluid. Step 3 — Disconnect battery, electrical connectors, shift linkage, hydraulic hoses, and drive shaft. Step 4 — Support the engine and transmission with a crane. Step 5 — Remove transmission mounts and bell housing bolts. Step 6 — Separate the transmission from the engine — transfer the torque converter from the old transmission if reusing. Step 7 — Fill the torque converter with ATF and seat it on the new transmission input shaft and pump drive (two clicks required for full seating). Step 8 — Measure converter-to-housing distance to verify correct seating. Step 9 — Align and bolt the new transmission to the engine. Step 10 — Torque mounts and bell housing bolts. Step 11 — Reconnect drive shaft, hydraulic lines, linkage, and wiring. Step 12 — Refill transmission fluid to correct level. Step 13 — Start engine, cycle through gears, check fluid level hot.
