When replacing a clutch housing on a D50C-2, always verify the housing-to-engine alignment dowels are present and undamaged — the dowels are what actually align the housing, not the bolts. Bolts provide clamping force; dowels provide position. Missing or damaged dowels must be replaced before installation. The pilot bore in the crankshaft for the torque converter hub must be inspected for wear or scoring — if the torque converter hub pilot has been running in a worn pilot bore, the resulting vibration has likely damaged the housing alignment dowels or elongated the bolt holes. Check all housing bolt holes for elongation — a housing that has been operating with loose bolts will have oval bolt holes that prevent correct alignment even with new bolts torqued to specification. After installation, torque the housing-to-engine and housing-to-transmission bolts to the Doosan factory torque specification in a cross-pattern sequence. Check bolt torque after the first 50 hours of operation.
