Forklift Steering Kingpin / Main Pin — 3 Ton Forklift Heli 2-3T Knuckle Vertical Shaft, 32×223mm, 45# Steel

This forklift steering kingpin is a Kingstream OEM main pin (vertical shaft / center pin) for 3 ton forklift trucks including Heli 2-3T series in manufacturing, construction, port, warehousing, and material handling. Typical dimensions: 32mm diameter × 223mm length. Precision machined from 45# carbon steel with mid-frequency induction hardening to 52-56 HRC for wear resistance and long service life. Weight approximately 1.35kg. Compatible with Heli, Toyota, Hyster, Mitsubishi, and Tailift 2-3 ton forklifts (cross-references: Heli QXXZ-3T-001, Toyota 43232-23321-71, Hyster 28168, Tailift 42504024). Kingstream OEM for 3 ton forklift fleet steering knuckle maintenance. OEM, various sizes available for customization.

KINGPIN FUNCTION: The kingpin is the hardened steel pivot shaft that passes vertically through the axle beam and steering knuckle. Bronze or steel bushings press into the knuckle bores, providing the bearing surface for the kingpin. As the steering cylinder actuates, the knuckle rotates on the kingpin to turn the rear wheels. The induction hardened surface (52-56 HRC) resists wear from the constant pivoting motion and load-bearing stress. Worn kingpins cause loose steering, uneven tire wear, wheel wobble, and eventual steering system failure. The 45# steel material with quenching treatment provides the strength and surface hardness required for heavy-duty forklift steering applications. For 3 ton forklift fleet steering knuckle maintenance, contact us. Kingstream OEM.

INSTALLATION: Jack up and support rear of forklift. Remove rear wheel. Disconnect tie rod end from steering knuckle arm. Remove kingpin retaining bolt or lock pin at top or bottom of axle beam. Using a hammer and drift or hydraulic press, drive out the old kingpin from the axle beam and knuckle. Inspect and replace worn bushings in the knuckle bores (bronze bushings should be replaced whenever the kingpin is replaced). Clean the kingpin bore thoroughly. Apply grease to the new kingpin and bushings. Align the knuckle with the axle beam bore. Drive in the new kingpin using a hammer and brass drift — protect the threaded end from damage. Install and torque the retaining bolt or lock pin. Reconnect the tie rod end. Install the rear wheel. Grease the kingpin through the grease fitting. Verify smooth knuckle rotation without binding or excessive play. Check rear wheel alignment. For 3 ton forklift fleet steering maintenance, contact us. Kingstream OEM.

SYMPTOMS OF KINGPIN FAILURE: Loose or wandering steering, uneven or excessive tire wear (especially feathered tread edges), clunking noise from rear axle when turning, visible play when the wheel is rocked by hand with the forklift jacked up, steering shimmy or vibration at speed. Kingstream OEM.
