Installing the Ford 1939-1948 rear wheel cylinder requires removing the brake drum, releasing the brake shoe return springs, disconnecting the brake line from the old cylinder, unbolting the old cylinder from the backing plate, installing the new Kingstream OEM cylinder with correct left/right orientation, reconnecting the brake line, reinstalling the shoes, reinstalling the drum, and bleeding the brake system. The 7/16″-24 inverted flare inlet requires the correct double-flare brake line connection — never use compression fittings on brake hydraulic systems. After installation, bleed the brake system until firm pedal feel is achieved.
