The clutch release fork (also called a clutch fork or release lever) is the cast or forged steel lever that pivots on a ball stud or shaft inside the bell housing, converting the linear motion of the clutch slave cylinder pushrod into the axial force that pushes the release bearing against the pressure plate diaphragm spring to disengage the clutch.
