6.50-10 Forklift Steel Wheel Rim — Compact 1-2 Ton Electric & IC Forklift Standard

This 6.50-10 steel wheel rim is the standard small-format rim size specified on compact 1-2 ton counterbalance forklifts, electric three-wheel forklifts, reach trucks, and industrial tow tractors from every major manufacturer. The 6.50-10 dimension — approximately 6.5 inches of section width on a 10-inch bead-seat diameter — is the most common small rim in the global forklift market, found on Heli CPD/CPCD10-20 series, Toyota 7FB/FBE10-20 series, Komatsu FB10-20 series, and countless other 1-2 ton models in both electric and IC configurations. Despite its compact dimensions, this rim performs the same critical safety functions as the largest industrial rims: it must maintain positive tire bead retention under the full rated load of the forklift, transmit drive motor torque and regenerative braking forces, withstand the lateral cornering loads generated during tight-radius warehouse maneuvers, and survive millions of start-stop and direction-change cycles without fatigue failure. A worn, cracked, or impact-damaged 6.50-10 rim compromises all of these functions — and given that these small forklifts often operate in very close proximity to personnel in narrow warehouse aisles, the safety implications of a rim failure are particularly serious.

Manufactured from heavy-gauge structural steel with a precision cold-rolled bead-seat profile engineered specifically for the 6.50-10 tire specification, this rim features deep, correctly angled flange geometry that provides positive mechanical bead retention under the dynamic load conditions specific to small forklifts: rapid acceleration and braking in high-cycle operations, tight-radius cornering at the limits of steering lock, and frequent traversing of dock plates, expansion joints, and floor irregularities that impart shock loads to the rim. The center disc is stamped from structural steel plate in a single-hit press operation, then CNC-machined to achieve accurate bolt-hole positioning and center bore concentricity for wobble-free hub mounting. The disc is robotically positioned and continuously seam-welded to the rim barrel with full-penetration circumferential welds. Post-welding, the assembly is shot-blasted to SA 2.5 surface preparation, given a zinc phosphate anti-corrosion pre-treatment, and finished with a durable electrostatic powder coat in semi-gloss black — providing excellent resistance to the humid and occasionally mildly corrosive atmosphere typical of food processing, cold storage, and pharmaceutical warehouse environments. Runout is controlled to within 1.5mm TIR.
