For multi-shift operations, remove the sleeves at the end of each shift and inspect the channels for debris accumulation that can score the parent fork surface. Store sleeves flat to prevent channel warping. The primary warning signs of sleeve degradation are visible cracks at the weld seams, elongated safety pin holes allowing excessive movement, and rust-through on painted versions where the coating has been scraped off by pallet contact.
