JF11-Y4MG-12100 35A 14V Alternator for Forklift & Excavator Diesel Engines
The JF11-Y4MG-12100 is a 35-ampere, 14-volt single-pulley (1PK) belt-driven alternator designed for forklift, excavator, and compact construction equipment diesel engines. As the primary electrical generating component of the engine’s charging system, this alternator converts mechanical rotational energy from the engine crankshaft pulley into regulated 14V DC electrical power that charges the battery, powers the vehicle’s electrical loads (lights, instruments, engine ECU, solenoids, and relays), and maintains the battery at full charge during operation. The alternator’s 35A output rating is typical for 2-5 liter displacement diesel engines in forklifts and compact excavators where the electrical load includes glow plugs, starter motor recharging, work lights, and basic instrumentation — sufficient to maintain battery state of charge under normal operating conditions without overloading the compact frame size constraints of the alternator mounting bracket.
The alternator features a 1PK (single ribbed V-belt, also called poly-V or serpentine) drive pulley that provides positive belt grip at the relatively low engine RPM typical of diesel forklift operation, minimizing belt slippage and the associated squealing noise and premature belt wear. Internally, the alternator uses a Lundell-type claw-pole rotor design with a field coil that generates a rotating magnetic field, inducing three-phase AC current in the stationary stator windings — this AC output is then rectified to regulated DC by a bridge rectifier consisting of six high-current silicon diodes mounted on a heat sink in the rear housing. An integrated solid-state voltage regulator maintains output voltage at 14.0-14.5V DC regardless of engine RPM or electrical load, preventing both undercharging (which leads to battery sulfation) and overcharging (which causes battery gassing, electrolyte loss, and premature bulb and electronic component failure). The front and rear bearings are sealed double-row ball bearings rated for the continuous high-speed operation required of belt-driven accessories.
Direct OEM replacement for XinChai 490/495/498, Isuzu C240/4JG2/4HF1, Yanmar 4TNE, Kubota V2203/V2403, and other 2-5 liter diesel engines used in HELI, Hangcha, TCM, and other forklifts. Also compatible with compact excavators, skid steer loaders, mini dumpers, and small generator sets using JF11-series 35A alternators. Before installation, check the drive belt for cracks, glazing, or wear and replace if necessary — a worn belt is the most common cause of alternator undercharging, not the alternator itself. Verify the battery is in good condition with a resting voltage of 12.4-12.7V. After installation, check charging voltage at the battery with the engine running at approximately 1500 RPM: it should read 13.8-14.5V. If lower, check belt tension and all electrical connections including ground straps. Each JF11 alternator is tested: output current at rated RPM, regulated voltage set point, diode forward/reverse testing, bearing noise analysis, and insulation resistance. Ships in foam-lined carton with pulley protected. 12-month warranty. Quick diagnostic: if battery warning light stays on with engine running, measure voltage at alternator B+ terminal to case — should be 13.8-14.5V. If significantly lower, alternator is not charging. If voltage at B+ is correct but battery is not charging, check for high resistance in the charging cable or blown fusible link. Contact our team for charging system support.
