This engine oil pan (part number C490BZG-07100) is the stamped steel reservoir bolted to the bottom of the Xinchai 490B diesel engine block that holds the engine oil supply and houses the oil pickup tube. The oil pan is the lowest point on the engine and is vulnerable to impact damage from road debris, forklift operation over uneven surfaces, and bottoming out on dock plates. A dented oil pan that contacts the oil pickup screen can restrict oil flow and cause oil pressure loss. A cracked or rusted-through oil pan leaks oil onto the ground and eventually starves the engine of lubrication.
