This customizable fork sleeve protector is a 1220mm (48-inch) steel fork cover designed to slide over existing forklift forks, protecting both the fork surface and the load from direct metal-to-metal contact while extending the effective load-bearing area for handling delicate, painted, or finished goods. With a cross-section of 125mm wide by 50mm thick — matching the most common ITA Class II standard fork profile — this sleeve fits Toyota, Komatsu, HELI, CAT, Mitsubishi, Hangcha, and most Asian-manufactured counterbalance forklifts in the 2-5 ton capacity range. The steel construction provides durability that plastic or rubber fork boots cannot match, while the customizable design allows for length, width, and surface finish modifications to suit specific fork dimensions and application requirements. Common failure modes include longitudinal cracking at the bend radius from repeated flexing, heel deformation from impact with the carriage face during aggressive loading, and corrosion at the open end where moisture wicks between the sleeve and the parent fork. A sleeve that no longer fits snugly indicates the parent fork has worn or the sleeve channel has stretched — replace both if the gap exceeds 2mm.
