The YY-D28B8-60201Y speed governor is a hydraulic flow control valve designed specifically for CPCD35 forklift series mast lowering circuits. Unlike generic flow control valves, this unit is calibrated at the factory to match the specific cylinder bore diameter and oil viscosity requirements of the CPCD35 — delivering consistent, predictable lowering speed across the full 3-3.6 ton load range. The valve body is cast iron with a black coating for corrosion resistance, and the internal spool uses a spring-loaded compensator that automatically adjusts the metering orifice based on return-side back pressure.

A key differentiator from the standard D28B8-60201 is the “Y” suffix designation — indicating reinforced internal springs rated for higher flow volumes associated with the larger lift cylinders on CPCD35 compared to 1-3 ton models. Installing a non-Y variant on a CPCD35 results in noticeably faster lowering speeds under heavy loads, which can lead to load instability and premature brake wear.
